This one is a keeper!
By Polly
This is a definite must read. It has everything a romance reader is looking for - love, sex, angst, betrayal, interference from outside sources, miscommunication that eventually leads to communication and tying up of loose ends and most important of all - a HEA. Ms Reid really draws the reader in and it was a joy to read. You could tell they both still loved each other very much but didn't know how to proceed to re-establish their relationship because of all of the manipulations both families did on them. I liked that from time to time we knew the hero's POV, it helped the reader a lot to understand both sides of the scene.

***SPOILER ALERT***

6 weeks after the death of their son, Louisa was living in England, but went back to Greece to be with Andreas. She went to their apartment and saw him in bed with another woman. He was naked with a sheet covering his groin. The woman was also naked with the sheet covering her essentials. Her arm was across his chest with her head lying next to his on the pillow. She ended up leaving without him ever knowing she had been there. Fast forward 5 years and they are now back at their apartment and Andreas is explaining what actually happened. This is what he said: he was drunk, passed out, when his FEMALE cousin came to help him out. The FEMALE cousin got him up out of bed and got him into the bathroom. The FEMALE cousin undressed him and put him in the shower to help sober him up. The FEMALE cousin was in the shower with him until he was able to stand on his own without hurting himself. The FEMALE cousin got him out, told him to dry off and shave. Then, saw her making the bed, and fell apart. He started sobbing. The FEMALE cousin got his naked self in bed, then joined him, hugging him until he stopped -- wearing only a towel! They eventually fall asleep and that's when Louisa walked in. The NAKED FEMALE cousin was wrapped around her NAKED husband. Do you get what I'm getting at? Now I don't know about you, readers, but in my family we don't get naked with each other, shower together, then lay down on a bed all while NAKED. It just isn't done. It borders on being incestuous. If they were only cousins, why was she draped over him? That's not the actions of a family member to another family member. Why didn't the h call him on it? That was the only thing that bothered me in this book. It gave me the heebie jeebies that a relative would do all of that. She could've sat him down in the shower while she stood outside. She could've put on some of his clothes to cover up. Hey - she could've even got him dressed, but did she do any of this? Nope. She just climbed into bed with him which leads me to think she wanted more. But that must be another story, another time.

Did I mention that I absolutely LOVED that both remained faithful to each other? Yup! What a wonderful and delightful surprise!

Urghhh, stupid, interfering families. I loved how much in love they were...even after all this time. They could have been together all these years and I feel sad for them. You knew right off the bat that they were both faithful to each other without them having to say so. I am actually mad that he did not care that the "eye candy" he attended functions with, let everyone think he slept with them. I would have shouted it to the world that I never laid a hand on anyone else. Especially since he was so in love with his wife and if he had any hopes of getting her back during those five years, it was tossed out the window after she read magazine after magazine about him with other women. I do love that they both could not be without one another and after the incident with their son, they both desperately wanted the other but their families got in the way and never let the other know that their spouse has been hunting them down. It was super sad to me and I love the fact, that 2 years later in the epilogue, he still does not want to be around the family and she is reluctant. He mentioned his brother taking over the business more so he could be home so I guess he is talking to him, even though he is the main one I would not on his side of the family. His brother is the one who told the heroine the hero had moved on and to just stay away. I do believe he is the younger brother so he may have been jealous and immature about his brother's relationship which could cause the hero to be more forgiving towards him, IDK for sure. It was a great book and I am mad at myself for waiting 5 plus months to read it because I bought it in June. I wish I had read it a lot sooner because this is what a romance should be about...deep love with each being faithful to the other because they are the only one each wants to be with! Fidelity, some romances do not know the meaning but this one does!!!

Louisa has known loss at an early age. She married Andreas when after a holiday trip with her family she is left pregnant. But when tragedy strikes and they lose their son she runs away. Now years later she is back on the island that holds both love and loss of love to visit her son's grave. But this time Andreas is there. What caused her to run away? Will they reconnect or divorce? What happened to the love they had? Michelle Reid is another HP author I love to follow.
