Leif Hetland was born in Stavanger, Norway. He is the president and founder of Global Mission Awareness and Leif Hetland Ministries. Life Changing

Wow! This is a powerful message.

If you struggle with not recognizing your own worth or knowing in the core of your being that you are loved beyond measure by your Heavenly Papa you need to read this book!

Leif helps the reader to have a proper view and understanding of God and God's heart. If we view Him correctly, we can better understand His heart and His view of ourselves. Then we can embrace our true identity and walk in the fullness of our inheritance. We can see ourselves and others; including our enemies through Heaven's eyes and we can impact our world with the Father's love.

We were created for a purpose. As you read this book, you just might hear Papa God clarify things you have been wrestling with and pondering all your life. The way Leif writes is illuminating. It has a way of drawing the reader into the greater story God is writing, and allows him/her to dialogue with God Himself to discover the reality of the message.

Amazing! Just what everyone needs!!

Believe it or not, but the title of this book was whispered in my ear one day. I had come to a dark place in my journey and Leif's testimony breathed hope back into my heart. I am forever grateful to God to leading me exactly where I needed... to know that He never left me and that in the midst of all the pain, sorrow and anger was the death of my old self to transform into the new creation I am in His Son Jesus Christ. Thank you thank you Mr. Hetland and may the glory of the Lord continue to fall upon you to rescue the lost and encourage the fallen. God bless and see you on the other side of Heaven my brother.

It is wild to see the live and power of the Spirit poured out on so many but more so to hear how loved we are by the God of the universe. About the Author
The late James Stewart received his M.S. from Stanford University and his Ph.D. from the University of Toronto. He did research at the University of London and was influenced by the famous mathematician George Polya at Stanford University. Stewart was most recently Professor of Mathematics at McMaster University, and his research field was harmonic analysis. Stewart was the author of a best-selling calculus textbook series published by Cengage Learning, including CALCULUS, CALCULUS: EARLY TRANSCENDENTALS, and CALCULUS: CONCEPTS AND CONTEXTS, as well as a series of precalculus texts.

Part memoir, part murder mystery and part diatribe, this book targets socially conservative Christians, but much of its content will undoubtedly engender sympathy in a broader audience. In response to three years of allegations that they killed their daughter, the Ramseys have written their side of the story, refuting the myriad accusations leveled against them and replacing them with their own recollections of events. These recollections paint a more than plausible picture of a family victimized at first by the horrific murder of a young child and then by a relentless media and police campaign to smear their reputations and prove their guilt. There is a whiff of narcissism in their tendency to refer to themselves in the third person; detailed descriptions of their homes, clothing and other possessions add to this impression. The Ramseys do, however, acknowledge that their wealth, now mostly gone, has protected them from the wrongful incarceration that many Americans endure. The Ramseys' attempt to set the record straight is at times tiresome, especially when they predictably complain about liberals who hate them because they are successful. But as we read their account of the hellishness of their lives since their daughter's murder, we realize that nothing about this situation has ever been fair and simply mourn that they had occasion to write this book at all. 16-page photo insert. John Ramsey is the former president of Access Graphics, a subsidiary of Lockheed Martin, which grossed more than one billion dollars in sales of computer products in December 1996. John holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering and a master's in business. He was an elder at Peachtree Presbyterian Church in Atlanta.

Patsy Ramsey graduated from West Virginia University with a degree in journalism and marketing. In 1977, she represented West Virginia in the Miss America Pageant. She worked for McCann Erickson Advertising and Hayes Microcomputer Products, Inc. in Atlanta before marrying John Ramsey. She has served as a volunteer, organizing projects such as the Egleston Children's Hospital Christmas card sale, which raised nearly $100,000, and a "Good Fairy" project that raised thousands of dollars for Boulder public schools.Hometown: Atlanta, Georgia

Good read; hard to follow

This book was written well enough; but a lot of times it was hard to follow. The timeline jumps around so much, it's hard to keep track of when things were happening. It was also hard to follow because the narrating jumped between Patsy and John and I was never sure when I started reading a paragraph, who was speaking.

As far as guilt or innocence, I believe that the media can take something simple and turn it into whatever they want. It is hard to make people change their minds once they are set on believing something. I feel badly that Patsy was never able to find the killer of her daughter before she passed. We all can only hope that one day that person will be brought to trial for the crime.

About the Author

The Diabolic weaves a dark tale of love, betrayal

The Diabolic weaves a dark tale of love, betrayal, and space-age​ drama to keeps you guessing with every turn of the page! I picked up a chapter sampler from the Barnes & Nobel Teen Fest in June and loved it! I don't think the description of “Red Queen meets The Hunger Games” gives this book justice because The Diabolic was neither of those stories. There may have been small similarities, but nothing that would make me jump to the conclusion the novel was derived from these popular series. If you were worried that The Diabolic was going to be “just another dystopian” it not in the slightest! This YA science fiction hooked me from the very beginning.

I can’t believe this novel is a stand alone! This galactic court S. J. Kincaid has created is a whole world just waiting to be unearthed. The elites live on decaying starships, while the remaining humans live on planets scattered throughout space. I really enjoyed reading about Nemesis as she struggled to keep her abilities hidden while forging new relationships. She is a humanoid and was created to serve a purpose. While doing what she thinks is best for Sidonia’s survival, Nemesis learns that there is more to her life than she could have imagined.

Romance is a prevalent theme as the story progresses. Nemesis meets Tyrus, the deranged nephew of the current Emperor. As Nemesis spends time with him, she begins to have feelings and emotions that she can’t understand. She wasn’t created to have the capacity to love others. I thought S. J. Kincaid did a wonderful job writing the romance. As the reader, you understand the struggle Nemesis is going through. It is because of who she is, we get more reserved yet passionate moments between her and Tyrus. I also liked that we didn’t quite get the full image of who Tyrus really was. He was unpredictable in so many ways. He could be kind and merciful one moment or cunning the next. In my humble opinion, their personalities made Nemesis and Tyrus an amazing couple.

The action, suspense, and serious Twists made The Diabolic one of my favorite books this year! Could it be turned into a series? Absolutely! However, I was beyond happy with the ending. I could read this over and over again with that ending! I totally had some major feels! Maybe a novella of Tyrus and Nemesis in the future?! I wouldn’t mind that! I highly recommend The Diabolic for a thrilling science fiction romance that won't disappoint!

3.5, rounded up...a tough book to review

I finished reading this book last week. It is a super fast read, one of those stories that sweeps you up from its first pages. I've delayed writing a review because it left me so torn. I fear as a result, this is the most poorly-written review I've ever delivered. You have my apologies for this.

Still, I shall do my best to do this book justice.

I LOVED the last 15% or so of this story. And I loved the 1st 40% as well. But then I found myself feeling like I was reading a retelling of Cinder. That's not necessarily a bad thing though. The Cinder series has a gigantic fan base, and I'm fairly certain that anyone who loved Cinder will feel similar love for The Diabolic.

With this book, we enter a trans-galactic world with an Emperor ruling over the many planets. There is discord amongst the masses, mostly a division between those who believe science should be explored and those who think it best left alone. A sort of AI is created and sold to the wealthy to serve as dedicated guards. These are the diabolics. We get to know one in particular very well, as she is bought to serve as the protector of an unpopular Senator's daughter. And this is where the plot really takes off.

I guess my issues with this book, other than its numerous similarities to Cinder, lie with some of the twists and turns built into the plotline. I wish the author had skipped some of these, the ones that didn't fit, demanded too much suspension of disbelief from the readers, were simply too contrived.

Overall, however, it's a solid story. It flies by. The world and its politics are portrayed nicely. We do identify with, and feel for the characters. And seriously, the last part of the book did redeem itself, in my eyes. I never considered not finishing the book. I am a little curious whether other readers also found any parallels between this and Cinder, however.

Please don't let this disorganized jumble of thoughts that is my review detract you from at least reading the sample, if you've been thinking about reading this book. I don't regret having read it. Not one bit. It has some cool original ideas, betrayals one doesn't see coming, all that kind of good stuff. I recommend it as a perfect relaxing fast read.

A good science fiction read

S.J Kincaid's second novel "The Diabolic" is a science fiction novel that tells the story of Nemesis, the diabolic, who is a creature created to protect a single person, and that person is Sedonia. Nemesis is engineered to be loyal to Sedonia, and protect her at all costs, even if that entails self-sacrifice. I thought this book was a shockingly good read, because I am not usually a big fan of science fiction or dystopian novels. I typically find that most books in these genres are all very much the same and share a lot of the same qualities, but "The Diabolic" was unlike anything I have ever read before. I liked how easily I was able to relate to the characters that Kincaid created, and I thought she really put a lot of detail and thought into the development of all of them. This book took me a lot longer to read than I had originally anticipated, for I had to read many sections of this book at least twice in order to properly absorb the information I was reading. I thought that the plot was a bit underdeveloped, and at times I felt that Kincaid rushed a lot of details together, especially towards the middle of the novel, almost as if she was playing catch up for how slow the beginning of this novel was. Some parts of this novel were rather unclear and hard to follow, and I think I would do well to read it a second time in order to fully process all of the details, for the plot is quite complex.

I enjoyed the fact that Nemesis ended being such a dynamic and round character, for it was something that I was not expecting to happen at all. I was not thrilled that there were romantic undertones to this novel, even though a full blown romance was never fully developed, but I thought that even the idea of a possible romance seemed to take away from the relationship that Nemesis had with Sedonia. I was also particularly disturbed by a scene involving an animal, but I actually thought the harshness of this scene helped to further the plot and keep me engaged. I gave this book a three star rating because I really liked the revolutionary concept of this novel, but I definitely had some issues following the plot line. I felt that Kincaid could be unnecessarily wordy at times, but I felt the fact that this novel is so character driven that it helped to enhance the plot and overall made it a good read. I would highly recommend this book to any young adult reader who loves a good science fiction novel.

B. Joseph Pine II and James H. Gilmore are cofounders of Strategic Horizons LLP, an Ohio-based, thinking studio dedicated to helping enterprises conceive and design new ways of adding value to their economic offerings. They are coauthors of Authenticity. Pine, who also wrote Mass Customization, is a Senior Fellow with the Design Futures Council and the European Centre for the Experience Economy, which he cofounded. Gilmore is a Batten Fellow and Visiting Lecturer at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business.

New to me, but some good practical advice about engaging customers

One of the companies showcased in "The Experience Economy" is Progressive Insurance, where I worked in the 90's. I can attest to the fact that--then and now--Progressive is totally engaged in the experiences they offer, and it truly sets them apart in their industry. But even with that affinity toward the importance of the experience, I had not heard of this book until seeing it referenced recently in a USA Today article about the "death" of shopping malls.

I very much liked Pine and Gilmore's discussion of why a focus on goods and services will inevitably lead to buying everything based on price. Progressive experienced that and even embraced price competition, but over the last 15 years they've successfully continued to give its customers performances and reasons for sticking with them beyond just price.

The first half of the book provides excellent rationales and case studies for focusing on experiences. I found it got a bit tedious in the second half when the authors looked at the experiences from a dramatic, theatrical perspective--as though to justify their argument. But invariably one starts thinking "what will come after experiences?" and that's when they shift in the last two chapters to the Transformation Economy that some companies/industries are already exploring.

All in all, this book helped me in two ways. Late in my career I find myself working for the first time in retail and--as other reviewers mention--this book really does focus on retail. We've recently added a new tool in our stores to help customers better evaluate which of our products will be right for them. This is new and eye-opening for many of our customers, but I can see that the novelty will soon pass. It seems important for us to build upon this new tool to establish an environment for entertaining and educating our customers so they are learning how we can improve their health. It's interesting how several of our vendor partners have seen this need, while others have not.

In a more personal way, my youngest son is part of the millennial generation who seemingly graduated from school at the wrong time and has struggled to find a job befitting of his college degree. His biggest obstacle--quite frustrating to me--is that he doesn't know what he wants to do. After reading this book, I can start to see his frustrations because there are many employers offering "old" jobs that are not exciting and that don't help people to aspire to work in those careers. Perhaps as businesses and employers start to transition into performing roles to help their customers to seek out transformations, emerging jobs will become more exciting and aspirational. But--after reading this book--I have a new way to talk to my son and perhaps help him to target what he really wants to do.

but not as boring as a business marketing textbook

Recently read this although it has been out for some time. I found this making me think of Seth Godin's marketing writing as well. However, this is a more detailed and accurate book on creating something greater than a product. Unlike much of Godin's work, Pine can use more concrete examples and suggestions for the reader to translate theory into practice. The content probably something that might be a bit overwhelming for a person completely new to business or marketing, and slightly underwhelming for an individual with an MBA.

The information is relevant to anyone who creates a product and wants to understand ways of increasing that value. Somewhere​ between the animated writing of Seth Godin, but more realistic, but not as boring as a business marketing textbook.

Articulates Experiences as distinct from Services, and work as an act of theatre

The Experience Economy clearly articulates one seemingly-simple thesis: that Experiences are a new type of economic value, distinct from commodities, goods, and services. In a way, they expand the saying "You aren't in business if you aren't in Show Business" into a deep, detailed analysis of experience as literally (not metaphorically) an act of meaningful theatre.

Mystery or Not, We Must Learn From History

I heard the buzz, so I read the book. I also caught a glimpse of the naysayers, those who put down the ideas in this book. Finally, I read a few pages of the companion book, courtesy of Amazon's Look Inside feature.

Are these harbingers something America needs to watch out for? Does this book show just how the United States of America will fall from power, disappearing before the Tribulation?

With an apology to those who find offense in the pedestrian phrase, I still must use it because of its simplistic and literal truth: God only knows.

On the plus side, Rabbi Cain obviously knows his Old Testament, Jewish history, and American history well enough to spin quite a self-referential tale. It truly is interesting to see the parallels between the nation of Israel during the days of Isaiah and modern America. Indeed, one cannot help but get a tingle down their spine reading about it, even though some are so obvious that the reader winders just how blind the book's protagonist misses so much.

On the minus side, though, is the plain, simple fact that America was not created to be, nor is today, the modern-day land of covenant. Replacement Theology states that Israel has been replaced, either temporarily or permanently, by the "Church," and that the USA is the host country for that new Promised Land on this side of the cross. Many will argue that much of our country's decisions were made based on that assumption. Still others, especially those of us who have seen the revived nation of Israel, wonder how that can be true.

To put it bluntly, God never made a covenant with America like He did with Abraham. The covenant, found in Genesis, was unique in that God did all the work. Abraham simply set things up and agreed. That would be like having a book publisher guarantee a NYT bestseller without seeing your manuscript, knowing what it's about, or cheating in any fashion. God can do that, as He sees the end and the beginning as one. He knew what would come from Israel, and knows the final plans for it.

America supposedly committed itself to God in days gone by, but that isn't the same, even if the founding fathers were true Christians and not mere "deists." No matter what their slant was, God did not come down, split some livestock, and pass between them in a cloud of fire. One would think that would be recorded quite prominently, but it's not, not even in the Illuminati-biased secret-society conspiracy theories.

Nonetheless, the parallels our country has followed relative to those of God's chosen people are too stark to be ignored. If they couldn't get away with such rebellious self-confidence, why should any of us here in the USA believe we can? The Harbinger borders on conspiracy theory at times, but provides documentation of the evidence. Even if the USA is not the modern-day Judah, even if we were never the covenant people they were, there's no good reason to believe that God would protect us any more than He did His rebellious people of the Old Testament.

No matter what else can be said about Cain's logic, his conclusions stand with the support of recent history. We have no good reason to think that the United States of America is any better off than Israel was in Isaiah's time. If anything, we have reason to believe that we are worse off! That's the value of this story-that-isn't-a-story: no matter what the connection between Israel and the USA, we are doomed to repeat their history if we continue to follow it.

Absolute MUST read for every person who lives in the United States

EXCELLENT Book!!!!! My sister gave us this book and the Mystery of the Shemita. We had never heard of them before. Hubby read the Harbinger and could not stop talking about it while reading it. He kept wanting to tell me about the book, but since I had planned to read it after him, I didn't want him to spoil it for me. Every day he shook like a hyper Chihuahua dog because he wanted to talk about it so badly! Well, at least that was what it seemed like to me. When he finally finished the book, I finally got my turn at it.

WHOA...... Unbelievable book. I could not put it down. It gave me goose bumps.

It is written as a "story", narrated by the main character most of the time. But the details contained in the story are real and factual. A simple search on Google will confirm the details. Your own memory of recent events (9/11, the stock market crash, the fall of Lehman Bros, the housing crash, etc) will be a confirmation for you that the details are real. I never realized how these details were all related. But once the ducks were all in a row, it was impossible for me to deny.

Once you read the book, you can decide for yourself if the author is on to something. My husband ended up buying this book on Kindle, as well as the Mystery of the Shemita, even thought the books were given to us for free. He then bought the "The Harbinger Companion With Study Guide: Decode the Mysteries and Respond to the Call that Can Change America's Future- and Yours" on Kindle. He said it too was really good. I am now reading the Companion book. It gives a lot more details of these current events. I'm glad I'm reading it.

The "story" is simply the vehicle upon which to convey what the author wants to tell you. I felt the "story" format made the book easier to read.

There are hard to deny truths in this book. Look back at our recent history, and it will make you shiver.

My son first introduced "The Harbinger" to me on you tube. This book follows that documentary very well with enough more in-depth insertions that I felt it worthwhile to read the book along with watching the program. I am reminded of the quote..."For those who believe, no explanation is necessary. For those who don't believe, no explanation is possible." This is a fact-filled book. It is not fiction and not embellished. No need to give the stories away. No matter what you believe, about anything, give this book a try. Then pass it on.

Learn How To Step Outside-Of-The-Box And Build A Business You're Proud Of

I first met Daniel in 2012 through one of his hustles, an interview series I believe, and I was particularly impressed with his expertise in marketing, realistic, compassionate attitude and willingness to collaborate and support others. These were also the three themes that stood out the most to me when I read his book and they’ll be useful to you as well on your path to entrepreneurship. Here’s a little more on each of the three themes Daniel addresses:

1) Expertise in marketing: A skill any business owner in any industry can use, Daniel breaks down how out-of-the-box thinking will get you further in your career more quickly. There’s a mix of both major marketing strategies to really move the needle, as well as day-to-day promotion tactics to help with your ongoing growth.

2) Realistic, compassionate attitude: To me, Daniel is known for his no-bullshit approach to business and life, which is refreshing and motivating as you read through his journey and learn from his advice. He acts as a cheerleader for your business while giving you real information that isn’t sugarcoated. For example, not worrying about setting up a business checking account the first week you start your company as it really only makes you feel accomplished and strokes your ego taking time away from more important activities.

3) Willingness to collaborate and support others: One of my favorite things about Daniel’s approach to his book and business is the fact he built his company off of relationships and grit while doing the same thing for other entrepreneurs in need of his guidance. I love reading and how it cuts down your learning curve. There are so many breakthroughs in this book.
